Strong & Independent

We are strong. We are independent. And that’s how we’d like to stay. So I have a couple of quick questions for you to gauge how you are training your mental health to be strong.

How often do you watch the news? The recommendation is just once per day, and preferably not at bedtime. Do you know how your news-consuming habits affect your mental health? Give it some thought!

Do you review your financial reports, check your accounts, or look at your receipts or a budget spreadsheet? How often do you review your finances? 42% of our population say that reviewing their financial statements has a negative impact on their mental health. So what’s recommended? To check once every few months, so every three to four months, check your financial statements in order to maintain strong mental health.

And that’s what we’re talking about today: independence and mental health, feeling strong so that we can maintain our independence.

So how do YOU train your mental health so that you can become strong?

Training muscles requires working out, doing something, and challenging yourself. When you workout to train your muscles to become stronger, you have to change up your workout because your body adapts to it.

How do you train for strong mental health?

Here are 2 tips!

  1. Once a day, take in the news. Preferably not at nighttime and maybe not first thing in the morning. Midday would be best. Know what’s going on in the world without letting it overwhelm you.

  2. Check your finances every few months to stay on top of your money without overwhelming yourself.

To maintain strong independence, we need to train our mental health!

Inhale “Oh well,” and exhale “So what?”

Stay strong, stretched, & centered,
mj
