An exercise to welcome fall + Relaxation 🧘

Here’s what I want you to do.

Step outside, just for a minute.

Take a few deep breaths.

Can you feel how today is different from yesterday, even just weather-wise?

Where I am in Northwest Pennsylvania, what I felt was a cool, crisp, and slightly sharp morning, because fall is in the air!

Continue the exercise. Take a little smell. Can you identify any scents unique to autumn? What do they remind you of? Take a moment to enjoy the memory!

Where does that smell come from? If you live in a climate like mine, it’s the trees and other vegetation beginning to prepare for winter. That’s what creates the scent of autumn.

In our minds, we associate scents with memories. We might associate the smells of autumn with bonfires, football, cornstalks, cinnamon, apples, pumpkin, ginger.

Like it prepares the trees, autumn prepares us for the long, lonely winter ahead, but it’s the best kind of lonely. Use your breath to set an intention to make time for yourself this autumn.

If your intention involves adding more movement to your day, we should talk! You can schedule a personal consultation with me by clicking the button below, and we can discuss your fitness and wellness goals for this season of change and if my Balance for Boomers program can help you achieve them.
