Comfort Healing

This October, we are focusing on comfort, healing, protection, and grace. Today we’re focusing in on self-healing. That’s the process of recovery.

We can be recovering from many different things, but the point is that self-healing is a process.

There are self-healing techniques to help us through this process!

Depending on what you’re recovering from, you may use one or more of these techniques.

  1. Accepting of yourself. I want to roll my eyes when I hear this. We’ve read about accepting ourselves. We’ve listened to the self-help tapes. We’ve talked to our friends. We know that in order to move forward, the first step is always in accepting yourself.

To be able to accept yourself, you need to be able to forgive!

Make a statement! Write it down!

Start a page with “I forgive…”

No judgment, maybe time yourself. Give yourself thirty seconds and list as many things that you need to forgive that come to mind.

This way you can step forward in the process of recovery.

2. Don’t give up on what’s important to you! Surround yourself with individuals who put energy into your account, who support you and allow you to not give up on what’s important to you.

Listen to yourself! Your gut knows!

Be kind to yourself and trust yourself. Learn how to understand yourself.

And then you can begin comforting yourself through the healing process. Take a sip of tea. Enjoy some music.

Healing is a process in recovery: one step at a time.
